Grant Porter

Grant Porter is Group Chief Financial Officer at Black & White Engineering, based in the UK. With over 30 years of international experience, he brings deep financial and operational expertise across Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Africa. As a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland, Grant combines strong financial leadership with a broad commercial perspective, supporting the business in delivering sustainable growth across its global operations.

Grant has spent more than 20 years in Regional CFO roles for two UK-listed engineering consultancies, where he played a key role in driving financial performance, supporting expansion into new markets and delivering successful post-acquisition integrations. His experience spans complex, multi-region businesses, giving him a detailed understanding of the financial, operational and strategic challenges associated with scaling international organisations.

At Black & White, Grant is responsible for leading the Group’s financial strategy, governance and performance. He works closely with the Executive Team to ensure the business is well-positioned to support continued growth, while maintaining strong financial discipline and resilience. His remit includes financial planning and analysis, risk management, corporate finance and supporting strategic decision-making across the organisation.

Grant brings significant expertise in mergers and acquisitions, having led and supported numerous transactions throughout his career. He is skilled in navigating the complexities of integration, ensuring that acquisitions deliver long-term value and align with broader business objectives. His ability to link financial insight with operational realities enables him to provide clear, practical guidance that supports both immediate performance and future growth.

Known for his collaborative and pragmatic approach, Grant works closely with teams across the business, going beyond the traditional finance function to add value at every stage of the project lifecycle. His deep understanding of project dynamics, business operations and economic cycles allows him to provide balanced, informed perspectives that support effective decision-making.
