Grant Dalgleish

Grant Dalgleish is Area Director for Edinburgh at Black & White Engineering, leading the growth and delivery of the company’s operations in Scotland. A building services electrical engineer with over 25 years of experience, Grant brings a strong combination of technical expertise, project leadership and regional knowledge, supporting clients across an increasingly complex and evolving engineering landscape.

Grant began his career in 2000, gaining broad design experience across multiple sectors in Edinburgh before progressing into senior project leadership roles in London. During this time, he worked on major mixed-use developments and high-rise residential projects, taking on roles including project lead, resident engineer and client monitor. This experience provided him with a well-rounded understanding of project delivery from multiple perspectives, strengthening his ability to manage risk, coordinate stakeholders and ensure successful outcomes.

He later returned to Edinburgh, where he acted as Project Director for the MEP design of one of the city’s most prominent retail and leisure-led mixed-use developments. This landmark project played a key role in the regeneration of Edinburgh’s east end and further established Grant’s reputation for delivering complex, high-profile schemes.

In 2019, Grant made a strategic move into the technology and data centre sector, where he has since focused his expertise. He has worked exclusively on data centre projects across Europe and the Middle East, with experience covering both client-side and contractor-led design and build roles. His work spans concept and developed design stages, enabling him to bring a clear, practical approach to delivering high-performance, mission-critical infrastructure.

As Area Director, Grant is responsible for leading the Edinburgh office, overseeing project delivery and building strong client relationships. He is focused on developing high-performing teams and strengthening Black & White’s presence, aligning regional delivery with the company’s wider “One Global Team” approach.

Grant is known for his pragmatic, solutions-focused mindset and his ability to balance technical excellence with commercial and operational considerations. His leadership continues to support the delivery of high-quality, resilient engineering solutions, helping clients meet the demands of an increasingly digital and connected world.
