Villy Maliaka

Villy Maliaka is Head of Design Management for the Middle East at Black & White Engineering, based in the company’s headquarters in Dubai. With over 13 years of industry experience, she brings a strong combination of technical expertise and design management capability, supporting the delivery of complex, multidisciplinary projects across the region.

Villy holds a Master’s degree in Energy and is a Certified Energy Auditor (CEA) and Certified Measurement and Verification Professional (CMVP) with the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE). She is also a member of ASHRAE, reflecting her commitment to maintaining high professional standards and staying at the forefront of industry best practice. Her background has enabled her to develop deep expertise in green building MEP design, energy performance and carbon emissions management.

Originally trained as a Senior Mechanical Engineer, Villy has worked across a wide range of building services projects, including commercial, retail, residential and high-end developments. She has particular experience in high-rise buildings and luxury villas, contributing to projects across the Middle East, Europe, Africa and Australia. This international exposure gives her a well-rounded understanding of design challenges across different markets and environments.

In her role at Black & White, Villy leads the Design Management function across the Middle East, ensuring that projects are delivered through a coordinated, structured and efficient design process. She works closely with multidisciplinary teams, clients and stakeholders to align design objectives, manage risk and drive high-quality outcomes across all stages of delivery.

Villy is known for her detail-oriented and collaborative approach, bringing clarity and structure to complex projects. Her focus on sustainability and energy performance supports the delivery of efficient, future-ready solutions, aligned with evolving industry requirements and client expectations.

Through her leadership, Villy plays a key role in strengthening Black & White’s Design Management capability in the Middle East, supporting the delivery of technically robust and well-coordinated engineering solutions across the region.
