Hosted by Black & White at AFC Wimbledon, this year’s event welcomed over 250 attendees, with teams from across the industry taking part in a full day of five-a-side action. From the first kick-off to the final whistle, the atmosphere showed exactly what the Construction Cup is about.

Supporting Adoption UK Through the Construction Cup

But beyond the football, the day delivered real impact.

£20,000 was raised for Adoption UK, supporting adopted children, families and professionals across the UK. The cause holds particular significance for the event, making this year’s result especially important.

Chris Hayward, Associate Director at Black & White and Construction Cup organiser, said:

“Each year, the Construction Cup grows, but what stands out most is how the industry comes together to support something bigger than the game itself. To see the industry rally behind Adoption UK and achieve such an incredible result is something I’m hugely proud of.”

Building Long-Term Community Impact

While the fundraising milestone is a key achievement, it also marks the start of a bigger and more meaningful ambition.

The Construction Cup is currently in discussions with Adoption UK to explore how the relationship could develop into a longer-term programme, creating impact beyond the event. More details will be shared soon.

Emily Frith, CEO of Adoption UK said:

“This vital funding will go towards bringing adopted children and their families together with others on the same journey so that they can form connections with others who really ‘get it’ and understand their experiences – opportunities that families tell us are simply priceless.”

Bringing the Industry Together

The success of the day comes down to the people behind it, the teams, players, sponsors and supporters who continue to make it what it is.

With another Construction Cup complete, the focus now turns to building on this momentum growing the event, deepening its community impact and continuing to bring the industry together, not just on the pitch, but in what we can achieve as a team.
