Social Responsibility
Engineering a better world means more than what we build. It means how we show up for our people, our industry and the communities around us.
Recognised as one of the best places to work in engineering.
Black & White Engineering has been awarded 5 Star Employer status by WorkBuzz for the fifth consecutive year, verified through our annual Employee Engagement Survey. With a 94% response rate and a global engagement score of 83%, sitting 10 points above the industry benchmark, the results reflect something unique about the culture we have built.
Our people describe that culture in their own words: collaborative, innovative, supportive, inclusive. For our clients, that culture translates directly into the quality of the team they work with engaged, talented and motivated people who are proud of what they do.
One Global Team
One Global Team is more than an operational model. It is a commitment to the people who make it work. With over 1,110 engineers and specialists across 44 countries, Black & White is built on the belief that the best outcomes come from bringing the right people together, regardless of where they are in the world.
Our employee turnover rate of 8.7% in Europe in 2025 tells its own story. For a business that has grown 500% since 2020, retaining people at that rate reflects something real about the culture we have built. Our people stay because the work is meaningful, the team is strong and the opportunity to develop is genuine.
View 10 year anniversariesA more diverse engineering industry
We believe that diversity of background, culture and discipline makes our engineering stronger. The perspectives that come from a genuinely global, genuinely diverse team are not a social commitment layered on top of our work. They are part of how we solve complex problems.
In technical hiring, we have increased female representation from 10% to over 20% since 2022, with our latest intake reaching 22%. That trajectory reflects clear momentum and it is a direction we are committed to continuing.
Women in EngineeringInvesting in our people
Our Global Academy delivered 480 training sessions and 942 hours of person-led learning in 2025, reaching our colleagues across our global offices. From technical skills development to leadership and personal growth, the Global Academy reflects our commitment to building careers.
Our Graduate Programme gives early-career engineers structured support, international exposure and real mentorship from day one developed through interactive global sessions, specialist training and placement opportunities across our Global Design Hubs in the Philippines.
Bringing the data centre and construction industry together
At Black & White Engineering, our responsibility to the industry extends beyond the projects we deliver. We are active participants in the data centre community, creating spaces where the people who build this industry can connect, collaborate and give back.
DC Titans is a golf networking series that brings the data centre community together on the course creating space for genuine connection across the industry in three locations: the UK, Singapore and Dubai, with more locations to follow. Running three times a year worldwide, DC Titans has grown into one of the sector’s most valued community platforms.

Held annually in the UK, the Construction Cup brings together players from across the data centre and construction industry competing on the pitch, connecting as a community and raising money for charity. In 2026, 350 players took part raising money for Adoption UK, supporting families and children through the adoption process.

Our people. Our communities. Our responsibility.
From mentoring programmes and community fundraising to wellbeing initiatives and team sport, our people invest in each other and the communities around them. Across every region and every office this is what our One Global Team looks like beyond our projects.
The same standards we set internally, we ask of others
Our social responsibility extends to how we procure and partner. Sub-consultants are onboarded against our code of ethics, and our supply chain is expected to meet the same standards of integrity, safety and environmental responsibility that govern how we operate.
Our Global Anti-Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy Statement and Global Anti-Bribery and Corruption Policy reflect our commitment to doing business the right way at every level of the supply chain.
