Sustainability. An engineering imperative

Our Net Zero commitment is one we have made for ourselves, not just for our clients. By 2030, the goal for Black & White’s global operations will be Net Zero with progress independently third-party assured annually. Every office is located near public transport, regional hubs minimise long-haul travel, and our supply chain is held to the same standards we set internally.

We hold our sub-consultants to our code of ethics from onboarding and are developing a materials specification that addresses embodied carbon at source. What we commit to, we measure. What we measure, we publish.

We partner with clients, supply chains and industry bodies who share our sustainability goals because the transition to a lower-carbon built environment cannot be made in isolation. Our certification expertise spans every major global framework, and our engineering-led ESG advisory gives developers the tools to meet regulatory, investor and planning requirements across every market we operate in.

Our Global Academy invests in the next generation of engineers who will carry this work forward  Our sustainability team deliberately draws from a broad spectrum of disciplines, because the problems we are solving are too interconnected for any single specialism to see whole.
