What is energy modelling?

Energy modelling for data centres is the process of building a detailed digital model of a facility to predict how it will consume energy, generate carbon emissions and perform under real operating conditions. It gives engineering teams and clients a quantified, evidence-based picture of building performance before design decisions are finalised.

For data centre projects, energy modelling is both a design tool and a compliance requirement. It informs cooling strategy, equipment sizing and systems integration decisions at the stages when they can still be meaningfully influenced.
