Black & White Engineering has once again been recognised as a 5-Star Employer by WorkBuzz, marking five consecutive years of this achievement.

The recognition follows the company’s 2026 Employee Engagement Survey, which achieved an outstanding 94% response rate from its global team of over 1,000+ professionals across 18 locations. The survey results show a strong engagement score of 83%, significantly exceeding industry benchmarks and reflecting the strength of Black & White’s One Global Team culture.
Achieving a 5 star employer award consistently comes down to how people feel about where they work, and how supported they are to grow. This reflects a strong and sustainable approach to employee engagement here at Black & White Engineering.
Strong Employee Engagement Drives 5-Star Recognition
As the company continues its rapid expansion across Europe, Middle East, Asia Pacific and with North America planned for 2026, maintaining a collaborative, high-performing culture remains central to its mission. Employee feedback highlights a workplace defined by strong teamwork, meaningful work on mission-critical data centre infrastructure, and a clear sense of purpose: engineering a sustainable digital world.
Investing in Global Engineering Careers and Talent Development
Caff Allen, Global Director, Learning & Development said:
“As we continue to grow globally, developing our people is critical to sustaining our one global team culture. Global Academy plays a key role in providing the training, support and career development opportunities our teams need to do their best work. This recognition demonstrates the impact of investing in our people and building a culture where talent can grow alongside the business.”
This approach ensures teams are equipped to deliver high-quality work while continuing to grow professionally, and is the kind of long-term investment is what underpins a 5 star employer award, not just in one year, but over time.
Using Data and AI to Strengthen the Employee Experience
This year, Black & White also introduced WorkBuzz Perspectives, AI-powered analytics feature that enables deeper insight into employee feedback at scale. This data-driven approach supports the company’s commitment to continuous improvement and informed decision-making as it expands internationally while maintaining the culture that has driven 500% growth since 2020.
Commenting on the results, Melissa Foster, Chief Experience Officer at WorkBuzz, said:
“Black & White Engineering’s approach to employee listening really stands out. It’s genuinely exciting to work with an organisation that’s so thoughtful and progressive in how it engages with its survey results. Their use of Perspectives, WorkBuzz’s AI powered analytics tool, shows just how seriously they take understanding their employee voice and using it to inform decisions.
Black & White is a great example of an organisation that clearly understands the direct link between employee feedback and tangible business outcomes — from sustaining strong engagement across their engineering teams to supporting talent acquisition as they expand globally.
The WorkBuzz 5 Star Employer Award is reserved for organisations achieving best in class response rates and engagement scores. Black & White Engineering more than meets that bar, and we’re delighted to recognise them.”
Supporting Growth While Maintaining a One Global Team Culture
As it enters new markets and tackles the evolving demands of AI-ready data centre infrastructure, Black & White remains focused on supporting its people, delivering technical excellence for clients and driving progress across the industry. Maintaining a 5 star employer award at this scale means staying consistent as the business evolves.
“Five years of 5-Star Employer status is something I’m incredibly proud of”, said Mick Cairns, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. “What it truly represents is the strength of the culture we’ve built together. Attracting the best engineering talent in the world is essential to underpin our growth, but retaining that talent is even more important. Retention forms the bedrock of our Black & White culture, that sense of continuity, shared values and purpose that sets us apart. This recognition reflects our commitment to giving every one of our people the environment, support and opportunities they need to build lasting careers with us.”
Building the Future of Mission Critical Engineering Careers
Black & White Engineering’s continued 5-Star Employer recognition reflects its strategic approach to growth: expanding globally while strengthening the culture that drives engineering excellence. By investing in its people through clear career pathways, professional development through its Global Academy, and a collaborative One Global Team environment, the company is building the talent foundation needed to lead in advanced engineering and design.
Five years of recognition is something we’re proud of. But more importantly, it’s something we want to keep building on.
